We Cleaned Up 🧹

February 19, 2024

Today we released a cleaned up version of Solos.

Our team removed the left navigation pane and the buttons on the top of your Solos page.

Our core thesis with Solos was that creators and freelancers need something that can help them replace a full website, but simple to use.

We had more sub-hypotheses under this:

  1. That users want a mini personal website
  2. That users want a place to showcase their work
  3. That users want to collect client data
  4. That users want to analyse their site traffic
  5. That users want to process transactions safely and easily

All the above sound perfectly reasonable.

But our users don’t act as perfectly as the image we painted above.

Most Solos users regularly use only one to two of the features above. At the same time, many new users kept asking us how to use our product, and what Solos is about.

We had too many things going on. Too much fluff that obscures what we are trying to do. Too many detractors from what people truly want and need.

So our team decided to cut the noise for our users, and did a little spring cleaning.

Here's the before and after

What you see on Solos today is the result of dozens of user conversations, hundreds of thousands of data points, and long discussions we’ve had within our team.

We cut all the noise, and we start back from the core:

a personal canvas…
to show your work…
easily and beautifully.

A clean canvas for you and us. Tabula rasa.

Let’s build this together.
